Setting Beautiful equestrian campground located in a forested setting. Both open-area and individual site camping are available. Over 80 miles of loop trails begin at the campground and traverse through the Ouachita Mountains.
Directions Take U.S. 270-59 south from Heavener, OK for 10 miles; turn right (west) on Holson Valley Road for 3 miles; then right (north) on Forest Service Road 7269 for 1 mile.

Special The Cedar Lake Equestrian Camp offers equestrians accessible day-use and overnight camping with facilities tailored to equestrians and their horses. The camp is equipped with electric and water hook-ups, group picnicking pavilions, showers, horse washracks, and direct access to over 70 miles of the Winding Stair Mountain equestrian trail system.

Popular activities at Cedar Lake Recreation Area include camping, picnicking, swimming, fishing, hiking, nature study, horseback riding, bird watching and sightseeing. Attractions nearby include the 54-mile- Talimena Scenic Drive, Kerr Memorial Arboretum and Nature Center and Heavener Runestone State Park. Motors larger than 7-1/2 horsepower are not allowed on lake. An accessible mounting platform is also available.
