Recreational Activities

We invite you to come and enjoy the 1.1 million acres of National Forests in Mississippi. Here you will find rolling hills in the upper Coastal Plain, flat piney woods in the Gulf Coastal Plain and bottomland hardwoods in the Heartland.

Your national forests offer clear running streams that wind around huge magnolia and beech trees. On a hot summer day, you can feel the splash of an inviting lake or enjoy a picnic amidst the wildflowers. There is an abundance of wildlife, including wild turkeys, and deer; so do not forget your camera. Other recreational opportunities we provide include fishing, swimming, camping, hunting, canoeing, horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking.

The six National Forests in Mississippi provide a wide variety of nature-based opportunities. The Bienville, Delta, DeSoto, Holly Springs, Homochitto, and Tombigbee National Forests are genuinely a place to have fun, relax and enjoy life. We look forward to your visit.
