The Winn Ranger District has number of camps and campgrounds to choose from. From equestrian camping with your family and horse to roughing it in a tent at the primitive hunting camp. Below is a general description of what the Winn Ranger District has to offer.
Winn Ranger District Camping Opportunities

Gum Springs Campground:
The Gum Springs Campground offers numerous recreation opportunities consisting of camping, picnicking, and hiking in a picturesque setting along Highway 84. Camping and picnicking in this quiet campground offers visitors the serenity the seek without the larger groups and crowds. Restrooms, fire rings, tent pads, and trash receptacles are available.

Gum Springs Horse Camp:
The Gum Springs Horse Camp offers the excitement of horseback riding and camping in a beautiful upland pine setting. Camping facilities are available for recreation vehicles, trailers, campers, and tents.

Cloud Crossing Campground:
This Recreation Complex is located along the banks of the beautiful Saline Bayou Wild & Scenic River. Recreation opportunities consist of fishing, camping, boating, hiking, and picnicking. An abundance of wildlife can be observed while visiting this campground. This area is frequently flooded during the fall and winter months, so please feel free to contact the Winn Ranger District Office at (318) 628-4664 for more information concerning accessibility during wet periods. Bathrooms and trash receptacles are available.

Highway 472 Camp :
The Highway 472 Hunter's Camp is inside the National Catahoula Wildlife Management Preserve and is mainly utilized by hunters but it can also be used by anyone year-around. Hwy 472 camp is split into two locations directly across from each other. Each facility provides group camping, tent camping, information board, and restrooms.
