     The Kisatchie Ranger District has 9 different campgrounds to offer its visitors. Kisatchie Bayou campground on the bayou, Cane and Oak for horses, and Lotus and Corral for OHV's. Below is a general description of what the Kisatchie Ranger District has to offer.

Kisatchie Ranger District Camping Opportunities

Tent campers at the Kisatchie Bayou CampgroundKisatchie Bayou Campground: Kisatchie Bayou Campground is within the Kisatchie Bayou Recreation Complex. This campground is a designated fee area and is near the day-use facilities of the area. Nestled on the banks of the Kisatchie Bayou beneath large old growth hardwoods, tent pads are available upstream or downstream from the day-use area and lower parking lot. However, no drinking water is available at the campground.The area is not designated for vehicle camping.

Dogwood Campground: The Dogwood Campground is a primitive campground located on Louisiana Highway 117, near FH 59 (Longleaf Scenic Byway). The campground includes restrooms, water, trash receptacles, and has room for trailers and campers.

Tent Camping at the Cane Horse Camp

 

Cane Camp: The Cane Camp is a primitive camping area set near the Sandstone Trail in an upland, mixed forest with large oaks and pines. Restrooms and trash receptacles are provided. This is a designated horse camp and has water and horse feeder poles. Cane Camp is a designated fee area.

Corral Camp: The Corral Camp is a primitive camping area set near the Sandstone Trail. Restrooms and trash receptacles are provided. This is a designated OHV camp.

Coyote Camp : The Coyote Camp is a primitive camping area within the National Red Dirt Wildlife Management Preserve. Restrooms are provided. This camp is a designated Hunter camp and has OHV access to the Sandstone Trail.

Custis Camp : The Custis Camp is a primitive camping area within the National Red Dirt Wildlife Management Preserve. This camp is a designated Hunter camp.

Lotus Camp : The Lotus Camp is a primitive camping area on the edge of the National Red Dirt Wildlife Management Preserve. Water, trash receptacles, and restrooms are provided. This camp is a designated OHV camp. There is a spur trail that leads to the Sandstone Multi-Use Trail for riders. This is a designated fee area.

Oak Camp : The Oak Camp is a primitive camping area within the National Red Dirt Wildlife Management Preserve. Restrooms are provided. This camp is a designated horse camp.

Red Bluff Camp : The Red Bluff Camp is a primitive camping area near the National Red Dirt Wildlife Management Preserve. Restrooms and trash receptacles are provided. This camp is designated for general camping.
