     To get to the Valentine Lake Campgrounds, travel on Highway 28 West from Alexandria, Louisiana for 14 miles. Turn left onto LA Highway 121 at Gardner and go 1/2 mile to Forest Road 279 (Valentine Road). Turn left onto FS 279 and go 1 mile to Forest Road 282 and turn right. Follow FS 282 to the entrance of Valentine Lake Recreation Area. The Northshore Campground is at the first paved road to the right. The Southshore Campground is closed.

Northshore Campground Information

Northshore Campground: The Valentine Lake Northshore Campground has 14 campsites, 6 of which are located along the shoreline of the lake. There is a vault restroom, trash containers and water is available in strategic locations around the campground. The Valentine Lake Trail starts and ends at the Northshore Campground and is 3 miles total in length. There is one fishing pier located near the northshore campground. The south side of the lake is accessible by a trail that crosses the overflow chute. The fee at this campground is $10 per night.
