Seasons All year. A trout license is required in designated stocked trout waters from October 1 through June 15.
Access State Route 611 or 739 to special regulation area.
   
Comments Special regulations exist below Flannagan Dam downstream to the confluence with the Russel Fork River. Part of the North Fork of Pound and Pound Rivers in Wise County are managed as a Delayed Harvest fishery

New River
Species Present Largemouth Bass, Spotted Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Rock Bass, Redbreast Sunfish, Channel Catfish, Musky, Walleye
Seasons All year.
Access State Route 94.
Camping New River Campground, Mount Rogers National Recreation Area. This area offers 16 campsites, picnic sites, and is adjacent to the New River Trail State Park.
Comments Not only fishing, but lots of hiking and biking opportunities in a nationally recognized scenic area!

South Fork Holston River
Species Present Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, White Bass, Musky
Seasons All year. A portion of this river is a designated stocked trout water from October 1 through June 15 (trout license required during that time).
Access From State Route 670 and 650 west of Sugar Grove.
Camping  
Comments Special regulations exist for a portion of this river, see specific regulations!

Access There are numerous access points developed and managed by the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. Please visit their web site for more information.

One point of bank fishing access on national forest is the Locher Tract, off State Route 782, on the Glenwood Ranger District.
Camping Both primitive and developed camping available.
Comments Excellent fishing and floating opportunities!

Access Route 41, east of Steeles Tavern, Pedlar Ranger District.
Camping Primitive camping in the Wilderness.
Comments

The St. Mary's River is characterized by sparkling cascades and waterfalls. It lies in the heart of the St. Mary's Wilderness, and has recently been the location of restoration activities mitigating for the effects of acid deposition. For more information go to http://csm.jmu.edu/st.marys/

Jackson River
Species Present: Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Rockbass, Chain Pickeral
Seasons All year. A portion of this river is designated stocked trout water from October 1 through June 15 (trout licence required during this time).
Access Lower Jackson (below Lake Moomow), FS access point off State Route 605. Upper Jackson (above Lake Moomaw), Hidden Valley access off Forest Road 241, Poor Farm access off Forest Road 623.
Camping The Hidden Valley Campground, Warm Springs Ranger District, offers 30 campsites with universally accessible restroom facilities.
Comments There are special regulations on the tailwater fishery of the Lower Jackson, and also on the upper Jackson above Hidden Valley. This is a very scenic river with a lot to offer the angler!

Access Walton Tract off State Route 625, Warm Springs Ranger District. Wallace Tract off State Route 629, North River Ranger District.
Camping Primitive camping in the area.
Comments A beautiful river with wading and floating opportunities.

North River

Seasons All year. A portion of the river is a designated stocked trout water from October 1 through June 15 (trout license required during this time).
Access Forest Road 95
Camping North River Campsite, North River Ranger District. This offers 18 campsites near the North River Gorge, with restroom facilities.
Comments A portion of the North River from the base of Elkhorn Dam downstream 1.5 miles is managed as a Delayed Harvest Fishery, see fishing regulations for specific dates and limitations.

Comments You have both the North Fork and South Forks to explore. Very scenic float fishing opportunities. See fishing regulations for slot limits on bass.
