A series of talks on the disease history, beetle, pathogen, vectors, hosts, surveys, ecological concerns, and potential management options were presented during the 2-day session, with open discussion on potential impacts, research needs, and management options. A field tour on Jekyll Island was hosted by the Georgia Forestry Commission.
Future action items discussed included: 1) developing a Laurel Wilt Website, 2) setting up a working group to coordinate information exchange, and 3) organization of a follow-up science forum.
