Laurel Wilt - Photo GalleryHost PlantsThe images in this section are included to assist in recognizing plants in the Lauraceae family that are known to harbor the laurel wilt pathogen. Redbay is widely distributed from VA to TX and a number of varieties or forms of redbay have been recognized as separate species by some experts. However, due to controversy and difficulty associated with distinguishing these species or varieties, all redbay is considered to be Persea borbonia, here, with a few exceptions where reference is made to swampbay, Persea palustris, as a separate species.
