OHV (Off-Highway Vehicles)
Overview and Background
Within the Osceola National Forest, motorized vehicles are allowed on some roads and prohibited on others. Although there are no official OHV trails there are roads that unlicensed vehicles, such as OHVs, are permitted to use. These roads are marked on the ground and maps are available at the Olustee Depot Visitor Center or by calling 386-752-0147. Restricted Areas are designated to protect certain biological communities, such as wetlands.
Riders may encounter licensed vehicles on these roads and all roads are two-way roads, have blind corners and may have obstacles in the road such as downed trees. These roads are designated for slow speeds of 20 mph or less for riders to view and appreciate the scenery and wildlife. Resource destruction such as mudding or creating travelways is prohibited. Maps are available below.
Please check with the Olustee Depot Information Center for the latest handouts and information about regulations pertaining to off road vehicle riding. The Olustee Depot Information Center is open Monday - Friday 9:00-12:00 and 12:30-4:00 or call 386-752-0147.
