Notice: Burning Ban in Effect

Due to Extreme Fire Danger, National Forests in Florida are CLOSED to open Fires

The Forest Supervisor has issued a burn ban prohibiting the use of open camp fires in the National Forests of Florida.  The ban includes:  building, maintaining, attending or using a fire, campfire, or stove fire, except for stove fires in commercially designed devices for cooking.  These commercially designed devices include propane cook stoves and above-the ground pedestal grills.  Fires which are placed directly on the ground for cooking purposes are considered to be the same as campfires and are specifically prohibited for the entire duration of the ban (May 9, 2007 through August 9, 2007).

Remember

• Do not use ground level fires!
• Do not leave fires unattended!
• Do have a SAFE visit to your National Forest.
