Threatened and Endangered Species
The Daniel Boone National Forest is home to 23 species that are federally listed as threatened or endangered. This list includes some of Kentucky's rarest species, imperiled due to habitat loss or degradation. Threatened and endangered species receive special consideration prior to management activities on the forest. Our biologists work in cooperation with other specialists to maintain and enhance habitat for listed species on the forest. This webpage is currently under revision. Return to this site

forest managers are doing to restore their populations. Please visit
