DANIEL BOONE NATIONAL FOREST

ORDER NUMBER 12-04-10

EMERGENCY CLOSURE FOR

“PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY”

 

Pursuant to the provisions of Title 36, Code of Federal Regulations, Section 261.50 (a) and to protect public safety and natural resources, the following acts are prohibited on the Cumberland Ranger District, Menifee, Powell and Wolfe Counties, Kentucky.  This order shall take effect on Sunday, June 27, 2010, and remains in effect until further notice.

Going into or upon National Forest System lands within the Red River Gorge Geological Area boundary and the area accessed by Tunnel Ridge Road as shown on the attached map.  261.53 (e)

The above prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.

 

Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. 261.50 (e) the following persons are exempt from the above Prohibitions:

Any Federal, State or Local Officer, or member of an organized rescue, trapping or firefighting force engaged in the performance of an official duty.

Any authorized person engaged in official administrative duties regarding National Forest Administration

Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.

REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Violations of the above prohibition set forth are punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual and $10,000 for an organization or imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, or both.  See 16 U.S.C. 551, 18 U.S.C. 3559 and 3571.
