Decisions of Forest Service officials may be appealed administratively under the Forest Service Appeal Regulations (36 CFR 215).

This site contains appeal decisions for appeal-able decisions made in the Southern Region since October, 2000.

Appeal-able decisions are grouped in two categories:

(1) Chief's Appeal Decisions relate to forest plans, which are programmatic plans developed under the National Forest Management Act; and

(2) Regional Forester or Forest Supervisor Appeal Decisions relate to project level plans, which reflect local resource management needs and are the result of site specific analysis.
