Calcasieu Ranger District's Evangeline Unit

Visitors to the Calcasieu Ranger District's Evangeline Unit can enjoy a wide variety of recreational opportunities. Biking, hiking, picnicking, camping, swimming, boating, water skiing, hunting and group get togethers are just some of the many activities available at the Kincaid Lake and Valentine Lake Recreational Areas. The District is divided into two land areas called "units", the Evangeline Unit, and the Vernon Unit.

    Kincaid Lake, a 2,600-acre reservoir, provides the setting for this attractive development, located 17 miles west of Alexandria, La. Valentine Lake Recreation Area

    The Valentine Recreation Area is situated on a beautiful 46-acre lake surrounded by pine-hardwood forest. This area provides outdoor recreation opportunities for camping, picnicking, canoeing, swimming, fishing, hiking, bicycling, and nature study.
