LOCATION: 37 miles southeast of Blue River

ACCESS: From Blue River travel 4 miles east on Hwy 126 to Aufderheide Road (FS road 19). Continue on Aufderheide Drive for 33 miles to Box Canyon Horse Camp.

ELEVATION: 3,750 feet

USE: Moderate

FEES (per site per night): No Fee

# OF SITES: 13 tent, auto, trailer sites

FACILITIES: fire rings, corrals, ample parking, tables, vault toilets, watering for animals only, NO drinking water, NO garbage service. Please pack it in, pack it out!

ACTIVITIES: camping, hiking, horseback riding

DESCRIPTION & ATTRACTIONS: Box Canyon Horse Camp was developed to provide convenient access for equestrians to both wilderness and undeveloped roadless areas west of the Cascade crest. Groves of conifers and scattered meadows make an appealing setting for both hikers and packsaddle enthusiasts. Campers without stock are also welcomed.
