LOCATION: 31 miles east of Oakridge

ACCESS: From Oakridge, proceed east on Hwy 58 for 25 miles to the Waldo Lake Road (FS Road 5897). Continue on Waldo Lake Road for 6 1/2 miles to the Shadow Bay turnoff. Follow signs to Shadow Bay Campground.

ELEVATION: 5,400 feet

USE: Light to Moderate

FACILITIES: flush/pit toilets, piped drinking water, garbage containers, fire rings, gray water disposal sumps, boat launch (1/2 mile from campground), recycle center, interpretive sign

ACTIVITIES: camping, picnicking, fishing, hiking, boating (10 M.P.H. speed limit), bicycling, swimming

DESCRIPTION & ATTRACTIONS: Shadow Bay Campground is located on a large bay at the south end of Waldo Lake. It is a considerably wetter environment than either North Waldo or Islet Campground, supporting a more diverse and prolific ground cover as well as more mosquitoes. The use rate is considerably lighter than North Waldo Campground. A hike to the South Shelter on the Shore Line Trail and then the Waldo Lake Trail #3590 is a pleasant way to enjoy the natural beauty of the woods and the lake, as well as a view of the snow-capped Sisters.

ACCESSIBLE FACILITIES: All restrooms in the campground are accessible.
