LOCATION: 37 miles east of Oakridge

ACCESS: From Oakridge, proceed east on Hwy 58 for 25 miles to the Waldo Lake Road (FS Road 5897). Follow Waldo Lake Road for 11 miles to FS Road 5898. Continue on FS Road 5898 to Islet Campground.

ELEVATION: 5,400 feet

USE: Low

FACILITIES: compost and vault toilets, piped drinking water, garbage containers, fire rings, boat launch, recycle center, interpretive sign

ACTIVITIES: camping, picnicking, fishing, hiking, boating (10 M.P.H. speed limit), bicycling, swimming

DESCRIPTION & ATTRACTIONS: This campground is located at the north end of Waldo Lake and offers wonderful sandy beaches. The winds consistently blow each afternoon, offering a cool break from the summer sun. A picnic table located on the rock jetty is a great spot to enjoy a peaceful evening watching the sun set. The 1-mile Shoreline Trail between Islet and North Waldo Campground provides a short and pleasant hike along the lakeshore. The mosquito population is high from June to mid-August and can be quite bothersome, so be prepared.
