Using the procedure outlined previously, Figure 11 maps individual pools and riffles within the Test Reach by assigning a different color to pools and riffles.  The labeling and color convention can be done in the “Legend Editor” or the “Query Builder” as discussed previously.  One can query to identify wood complexes, deep pools or by any attribute associated with an individual habitat unit in the stream survey data.  Amending event tables with pre- and post-project data can be used to display habitat changes from instream projects.

There are numerous ways to display stream survey data on maps in ArcView.  These files can be exported as Windows Metalfiles or bitmaps and inserted in text documents in WORD or PowerPoint graphics documents.  This makes for a nice report or summary document with illustrations.
