Recreational Activities - Hiking

Trails:

Please contact your local Ranger District Office to report any trails in need of maintenance (i.e. downed logs across the trail, or any hazardous conditions). Please supply trail name/number with specific area location (GPS data welcome!).

Do I need a pass?

The National Forests in Oregon and Washington that require day use fees are listed here. The Umpqua National Forest reqires a pass at these locations.

Recreation passes do not cover fees for winter sno-parks, cabin rentals, or climbing and wilderness permits. They also do not cover developed campgrounds, but Interagency Senior Pass and Interagency Access Pass holders may receive a 50% discount for camping fees. (MORE)

 

Trail Difficulty Ratings:

The difficulty level of a trail is determined by the challenge it presents to the physical ability of the average hiker.
