Fry Meadow Guard StationFry Meadow Guard Station- elevation 4138 ft.

Fry Meadow Guard Station is furnished with a propane cooking stove, table and four chairs, four cots for sleeping bags, and outside toilet. No water available at the cabin.

Location: This site is located approximately 25 miles northeast of Elgin, Oregon on the Umatilla National Forest. The map location is Township 4 North, Range 40 East, Section 32.

Cabin Capacity: 4 people maximum.
Use Fee: $30.00 per night.

Season Available: All year. Automobile access to the site runs from June 1 to November 1. Winter use will require alternate transportation such as skis, snowshoes, or snowmobile.

Area Attractions: The Fry Meadow Guard Station is located just south of the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness, and west of the wild and scenic Grande Ronde River. Mushroom and berry picking. Wildlife viewing. top

 

Summit Guard Station Cabin

Summit Guard Station Bunkhouse- elevation 4800 ft.

Location: This site is located approximately 41 miles southeast of Pendleton, Oregon on the Umatilla National Forest. The bunkhouse is furnished with propane heater, range, table and four chairs, four bed frames, and outside toilet. No water source available at the site. The map location is Township 1 South, Range 37 East, Section 17.

Cabin Capacity: 4 people maximum.
Use Fee: $35.00 per night.

Season Available: All year. Automobile access to the site runs from June 1 to November 1. Winter use will require alternate transportation such as skis, snowshoes, or snowmobile.

Area Attractions: The bunkhouse is located adjacent to the Hell Hole Roadless area. Prominent points in the area include Wilbur Mountain, Spring Mountain, Sugarloaf Mountain, and Green Mountain. Historical attractions include the Whitman Route Overlook. Horse or hiker trails into the wilderness. Wildlife viewing.
