Recreation Passes

A Recreation Pass is a pass for the use of many improved trailheads, picnic areas, boat launches and interpretive sites on National Forests throughout Oregon and Washington. Recreation Pass Required signs are posted at participating sites

Revenues from pass sales go directly to maintaining and improving the trails, land and facilities you own and enjoy.

To view a list of pass options or purchase a pass online, please visit Pacific Northwest Recreation Passes or call at 1-800-270-7504.

A Northwest Forest Pass is needed at participating trailheads where recreation user fees are required. The pass is valid at any national forest in Washington or Oregon and costs is $30 for an annual pass and $5 for a day pass. The money goes directly towards trail and trailhead maintenance. The Interagency Annual, Senior, and Access passes are excepted at fee trailhead sites.

The Umatilla National Forest has eight trailheads participating in the Northwest Forest Pass Program in 2009. Those trailheads include: Elk Flats, Meadow Creek, Panjab, Teepee, Three Forks, Timothy, Tucannon, Twin Buttes.
