"Fast Pyrolysis" Equipment Demonstrations

On August 31, 2009, the Umatilla National Forest, in cooperation with Morrow County, Rocky Mountain Research Station, University of Idaho and the University of Montana, sponsored a free public demonstration of fast pyrolysis equipment at the Kinzua Mill Site located north of Heppner, OR.

• Formal presentations on pyrolysis, biochar, pyrolyzer equipment, etc.
• Poster/break-out groups for informal discussion and questions/answers
• Refreshments to be served, time to observe pyrolyzer, and adjourn (expect total length of demonstration - 120 minutes)
