1.  What's the weather like or going to be like on the Heppner Ranger District?

2.  Is FS Road 53 open from Heppner to Ukiah?
        NO! There is too much snow.

3.  Do I need reservations to stay at Bull Prairie or Penland Lake Campgrounds?
        NO! Both of these campgrounds are on a first-come, first-serve basis.  There is a charge of $12/per night at Bull Prairie.  

4.  Are there any other campgrounds in your area besides Bull Prairie, Fairview, and Penland lake?
        YES! There are 2 campgrounds owned by Morrow County (Anson Wright Park and Cutsforth Park) that sit on the edge of the forest boundary.  Then there is Willow Creek Campground on the edge of Heppner.  For more information on these other campgrounds, click on http://www.heppner.net/

6.  Do you participate in the Federal Recreation Passport Program?
            YES!  We sell Golden Age Passports at the district office.  They are available for $10, for seniors 62 years and older.  Golden Access Passports are free for individuals with a permanent disability (please present written proof). 

7.  What is the Northwest Forest Pass?  Do you require one on the Heppner Ranger District?
            On the Heppner Ranger District, we do not have any participating Trailheads that require a Northwest Forest Pass, but there are approximately 42 Trailheads on the rest of the Umatilla National Forest that do.  If you are 62 years old or older, your Golden Age Passport doubles as a Northwest Forest Pass.  For more information on the Northwest Trailhead Pass click on http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/feedemo/
