FVS, the Forest Vegetation Simulator is an individual-tree, distance-independent growth and yield model. FVS will simulate growth and yield for most major forest tree species, forest types, and stand conditions. FVS can simulate a wide range of silvicultural treatments. See the FVS Home page and also the FVS page maintained by the Forest Health and Technology Enterprise Team. To download the FVS software, click here or use the software link on the FVS Home page.

about a graphical extension to the FVS program.
SVS, the Stand Visualization System generates graphic images depicting stand conditions represented by a list of individual stand components, e.g., trees, shrubs, and down material. The images produced by SVS can provide a readily understood representation of stand conditions. Images produced using SVS help communicate silvicultural treatments and forest management alternatives to a variety of audiences. For more information and for access to the software, visit the SVS Home Page.
