Tsunami Siren Testing
The Hebo Ranger District, in cooperation with Tillamook County Emergency Management, placed a tsunami siren in the Sand Lake Recreation Area which lies within the tsunami inundation zone.

On the second Monday of each month, at 1:00 p.m., a 3 minute solid tone-out will occur as a test of the system.

Alcohol prohibited in OHV riding areas Possession of alcohol is prohibited in Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) riding areas outside of developed sites

This popular OHV area is open year around. Four campgrounds and one day use staging area allow campers and day players to access the sand dunes and beach.

Important information about regulations is posted at several Fee Station Kiosks.

The entire area is within a Tsunami Inundation Zone and an on-site siren does a 3 minute test on the second Monday of each month. Possession and use of alcohol is prohibited on the open sand dunes including Derrick Road campground.

A fee is required at all campgrounds, the day use lot and the open sand.

Campgrounds fill up every weekend May through September.
Reservations are available at Sandbeach OHV Campground from April through May.
