Wolf Creek Trail 527

 

Access: From Winthrop drive State Route 20 south out of town. Cross the Methow River bridge and turn right on Okanogan County Road 9120. Drive 1.5 miles and stay right on County Road 1131. Drive 4.5 miles staying right on Forest Service Road 5505 to the signed trailhead.

Route Description: Trail follows the valley bottom 10.3 miles to the meadows beneath Mt. Gardner. The route is mostly in timber, broken by occasional meadow areas.

Highlights: The trail follows the banks of Wolf Creek most of the way. There are three non-maintained trails that connect to this trail for those who want to explore North Fork, Wolf Creek, Abernathy Trail, and Hubbard Creek Trail (all old stock driveways).

Specific Hazards/Difficulties: Check fishing regulations for what areas are open for fishing.

Season: June - September.

             Green Trails: Buttermilk Butte.

Restrictions: Wilderness use restrictions apply.

Trailhead Facilities: Stock ramp, hitch rail, and toilets.
