Slate Lake Trail 414

 

Access: From Twisp drive west about 17.5 miles on Okanogan County Road 9114, which becomes Forest Service Road 44, to FS Road 4400-220 and the trailhead.

Route Description: Trail begins in Douglas fir and ponderosa pine forest. It is steep for the first 3 miles; last 2 miles easier through forest and meadows to Slate Lake.

Highlights: Excellent views of the Twisp River drainage and rugged peaks of Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness.

Specific Hazards/Difficulties: No water near trail.

 

Length: 5 miles/8.05 km.

Season: June - October.
