Mushroom Permits
FREE USE:
A permit is not required to harvest, possess,
or transport less than three gallons (per day). Free use mushrooms
can not be sold, bartered, or given away.

COMMERCIAL USE:
A commercial mushroom permit is required if you
harvest, possess, or transport more than three gallons per day of
any species of mushrooms, or intend to sell harvest mushrooms. Commercial Mushroom Permits can be purchased
a the following rates:
- Daily Permits $5.00 per consecutive day(s),
(Minimum sale $20.00).
- Season Permits January 1 - December 31,
$100.00

Frequently Asked Questions
Who needs a permit to pick mushrooms?
Anyone who plans to sell or pick more than three gallons
per day needs a permit. Sorry, the permit feed is not refundable.
Where Can I pick Mushrooms?
Once a permit has been purchased, mushrooms may be harvested
anywhere in the Okanogan National Forest unless otherwise restricted
by the Okanogan National Forest Travel Plan Map or closed by
a Closure order.
Open road vary from area to area. Visitors are asked
not to drive on water-saturated, muddy roads. check with
the local forest service office for an update on road conditions
and special closures.
What happens if I do not follow the terms of my permit?
The Forest Service reserves the right to revoke the permit
for non-compliance with permit conditions. In addition, you
may be issued a citation, which may require you to appear in court
and/or pay a fine if found guilty.
