Hello. This is a general message to all current and former members of the Winema Interagency Hotshot Crew and its predecessors, to inform everyone about the 40th Year Reunion Party taking place this spring. Currently, we are trying to contact as many former employees, (temporary or permanent), of the crew since it began in 1962 as the Star Fire Suppression Crew, but we need your help. If you have any information about former crew personnel, please let us know as soon as possible so we can contact them about the reunion. The tentative plans for the reunion are as follows:

When:

April 20th, 2002 (Saturday)

Where:

Rogue Valley Area, near Medford, Oregon (exact location to be announced)

Why:

To celebrate 40 years of service from the Winema IHC Crew
-Star Inter-Regional Fire Suppression Crew (1962-69)
-Rogue River Inter-Regional Fire Suppression Crew (1970-79)
-Prospect Interagency Hotshot Crew (1980-81)
-Winema Interagency Hotshot Crew (1982-present)

Who:

Any current and/or former members of the above Fire Suppression Crews; as well as any of their guests. (Please help up expand our contact list!)

What:

Potluck style Barbeque and Get-Together (more details later) Possible over-night camping available for 4/19/02 (Fri.) & 4/20/01 (Sat.)

As we are planning on having a Winema IHC history display, we encourage you to bring any crew photos or artifacts you may have so that others may enjoy them, too. Alumni T-shirts will also be available. For those interested in purchasing t-shirts, please let us know how many you'd like and we can give you an idea on prices. Once again, these plans are not permanent and we'll be sending out regular updates to inform every one of the details. Our main goal right now is to contact as many former crewmembers as possible, so we can add them to our reunion list and get an idea of how many people will be attending. If you know of any former crew personnel or of how we may be able to get a hold of them, please contact us. Thanks and hope to see you there!
