Prescribed Fire Burn Unit Hamaker Canyon consists of 480 acres. This is a fuels management project awarded to Grayback Forestry (Contractor) designed to meet hazard fuel reduction objectives within a broader spectrum of resource management goals. The unit had been previously treated with the use of prescribed fire in 1999 (401 acres) and in 2001 (79 acres). The 79 acres treated in 2001 consisted of burning hand piles in the southern portion of the unit to reduce heavy fuel loading.
