Forest Camps

Can Springs

 

    Can Spring Forest Camp
  • Forest setting, but on the edge of the High Desert.
  • 6300' above sea level
  • Site has large ponderosa pine stands
  • Two miles from the Swale Trailhead which accesses the Fremont National Recreation Trail
Accommodations:
  • Outhouse
  • Picnic tables and fire grates
Activities:
  • Birdwatching
  • Wildlife viewing
  • Photography
  • Wildflowers
  • Nearby trail open to hikers, horseback riders, and mountain bike riders.
Recommended Season:
Maintained from June 1 through October 15

How to get there:
From Lakeview Ranger District Office:
Go 2½ miles north on Highway 395, and turn right on Highway 140. Take Highway 140 east for 8 miles, then turn left on Forest Road 3615. Go on Forest Road 3615 for 11½ miles, then turn right on Forest Road 3720. Go on Forest Road 3720 for 4 miles and you should see the entrance sign.
