Forest setting, but on the edge of the High Desert.
6300' above sea level
Site has large ponderosa pine stands
Two miles from the Swale Trailhead which accesses the Fremont National Recreation Trail

Nearby trail open to hikers, horseback riders, and mountain bike riders.

Maintained from June 1 through October 15

How to get there:

From Lakeview Ranger District Office:

Go 2½ miles north on Highway 395, and turn right on Highway 140. Take Highway 140 east for 8 miles, then turn left on Forest Road 3615. Go on Forest Road 3615 for 11½ miles, then turn right on Forest Road 3720. Go on Forest Road 3720 for 4 miles and you should see the entrance sign.
