Marster Spring

 

 

Marster Spring Sign

  • Along the Chewaucan River with fishing access
  • 7 ½ miles from Paisley
  • 4845 ft. elevation
  • Paved road access.
Accommodations:
  • 10 campsites with fire rings and picnic tables
  • Accessible outhouse
  • Drinking water - hand pump
  • Garbage..."Pack it in, Pack it out"
Activities:
  • River fishing for native redband trout and brook trout
  • Birdwatching and Wildflowers
  • Wildlife, such as beavers, active nearby.
  • Fremont National Recreation Trail accessed at the Chewaucan Crossing Trailhead, ¼ mile to the south.
Recommended Season:
Maintained from May 15 through October 31
Considerations:
  • ...Campground fills up quickly; due to proximity to town.
  • ...Gather your firewood for camp use, nearby.
  • ...First come - first served.
  • ...Sites are large back-in type, no pull throughs.
How to get there:
From Paisley Ranger District Office:
Go ½ mile north on Highway 31, and turn left on Mill Road. Mill Street becomes Forest Road 33 at the "Y" junction. Stay to the left and continue on Forest Road 33 for 7 miles. Campground entrance is on the left. There is a turn-around loop inside of the campground.
