Main Stem John Day River

The Crescent CG is at 5200 feet elevation and has 5 tent/trailer sites and stream water. The campground is on the river with easy access off County Rd 62. The Trout Farm CG is about 2-miles downstream of Crescent CG on the John Day River. It is at 4900 feet elevation with 4 picnic sites and 6 tent/trailer sites with a developed water system. This is a fee campground at $6/night. Hiking - There is a 0.5 mile trail around the Trout Farm Pond also located at this site.

Barrier Free Access: Yes
Hiking: 0.5 miles
Driving Directions: The John Day River heads about 10 mi. SE of Prairie City and flows westerly through the John Day Valley.
Fish Species: Summer steelhead, spring Chinook salmon, redband trout, cutthroat trout, brook trout, smallmouth bass, and bull trout.
Fishing Methods: Fly, Spin, Bait
Angling Season: Year-round
Campgrounds: Crescent and Trout Farm campgrounds are located off County Rd 62 SE of Prairie City on the Malheur Forest below the headwaters.
