Seedling family of western white pine (P. monticola) resistant to white pine blister rust. Note: six of 10 trees remaining in this box, all 110 trees in the other 11 families died several years ago in this box. The six remaining trees in this plot of family '93' span an array of symptoms from large base canker (see tree 2 from the left) to free of stem symptoms. (2004 photo of trial inoculated in 1997).
