Year update process is to pull new locations from KCFAST database. You need to have a WIMS username and password. Go to http://famweb.nwcg.gov/ and select KCFAST, Fire, Fire Reports. Put in addmin unit. i.e. 0614, begin year and end year. Then select corporate GIS for Administration unit. The report will go to a FTP site and retrieve from there. Take text file report and add column headings by inserting a new text line at start of file. Project file using ArcCatalog assuming a geographic project with a NAD83 Datum from North America. Then reproject to local projection.
