Title: fnwfp_ripres (Riparian Reserves)
Abstract:
Riparian Reserve areas created by buffering the streams layer to a slope distance of approximately two tree lengths.
Supplemental_Information:
The buffer distance was determined by first calculating the average slope of the approximate buffer area using ARC/INFO GRID. The average slope along with a slope distance equal to approximately two tree lengths was used in the COSIN formula to calculate the horizontal distance. Hebo was calculated with a slightly different initial average slope then the south part of the forest. The final buffer distance for Hebo was 154m for Streamclass 1-3 and 72m for Streamclass 4. The final buffer distance for the south forest was 150m for Streamclass 1-3 and 75m for Streamclass 4
