Abstract:
The Range Management Unit (RMU) feature dataset includes land units that support the management of rangeland needs and mapping. This feature dataset is a product of the Pacific Northwest Region Coverage to Geodatabase Conversion Project in an effort to standardize data throughout the Region. The following feature classes meet USDA Forest Service National GIS Data Dictionary Standards: rmu_keyarea, rmu_subunit, and rmu_unit.
Purpose:
The RMU feature dataset includes a variety of land unit polygons (e.g., Allotment, Exclosure, General Resource Area and Wild Horse and Burro Territory) that need to be maintained spatially. The feature classes in this feature dataset allow for representation of rangeland land units as one of the basic spatial types: polygons. Infra distinguishes a number of land units which are represented as types within each feature class.
