Abstract:
Polygon coverage that delineates the Land and Resource Management Plan (LRMP) Management Areas for the Ochoco National Forest and Crooked River National Grassland.
This plan was prepared in compliance with 36 CFR 219, based on the Forest and Rangeland Renewable Resources Planning Act as amended by the National Forest Management Act of 1976, and in compliance with 40 CFR 1500 based on the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969.
Because the Plan is a major Federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment, an environmental impact statement (EIS) was prepared. The Plan provides direction for implementing the preferred alternative selected in the EIS.
Management Area boundaries are current as of the June 1991 LRMP. No updates have occured since 1991.

  2. How were the data generated, processed, and modified?

    Date: 1994 (process 1 of 3)
    Original linework manuscripted on stable mylar, registerd to 1:24,000 Primary Base Series Maps and based on Forest Plan analysis maps prepared at various scales. Manuscripts were scanned and imported into ArcInfo coverages. Original data was collected in State Plane Coordinate System (Oregon South, fipszone 3602) NAD 1927 CONUS. It was reprojected to UTM Zone 10, NAD 1927 CONUS for consistancy with adjacent FS and BLM units.
    Occasional Updates have been made to correct errors and reflect changes in LMP allocations at irregular intervals.
