Abstract:
This coverages identifies Forest Service Riparian Stream buffers as described under Aquatic Conservation Strategy Objectives for the Northwest Forest Plan. This coverage is limited to the Mt. Hood National Forest.
Purpose:
Coverage is for used to identify riparian reserves as defined under Aquatic Conservation Strategy Objectives, Northwest Forest Plan, Record of Decision, Standards and Guidelines. Page.B-12. Westside buffer widths were based on the average actual heights of older site-index quality trees (150 years or older) measured on ecology plots located in riparian areas. The eastside buffer widths were based on site-potential tree heights as determined by the mile creeks watershed analysis process. The vegetation zone map was used to identify the coreect buffer width for each streams on the stream coverage and each lake on the lake coverage.
