Abstract:
This shapefile is a clipped export of the BasicOwnership feature class from R6 ALP dataset in SDE S_USA_OR.ALP at Enterprise Production Data Center at Kansas City.
The Region 6 land status data that has been derived from the ALP effort represents the most up to data digital version of our official lands records. It is comprised of spatial and tabular data combined into one dataset. This dataset contains the information for PLSS, ownership, encumbrances, use restrictions, wilderness areas, special management areas, wild and scenic rivers, and boundaries. The spatial data is vertically integrated to ensure compatibility between the layers and other data sources (i.e. aerial photos, digital quad maps, Geographic Coordinate Database data). The data is separated into various layers, or themes, for each state. Each theme contains attributes that describe the status information of the parcels that are associated with that theme. For example, the theme entitled Surface Ownership contains attributes that list the owner's name, the case name, authority used, date acquired, etc. |

Metadata elements shown with blue text are defined in the Federal Geographic Data Committee's (FGDC) Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Elements shown with green text are defined in the ESRI Profile of the CSDGM. Elements shown with a green asterisk (*) will be automatically updated by ArcCatalog. ArcCatalog adds hints indicating which FGDC elements are mandatory; these are shown with gray text.

The purpose of this data is to provide display, identify, and analysis tools for determining land status information for Forest Service Lands Specialists, Management Planners, GIS Specialists, and others. The attribute values that describe these data are stored as spatial attributes and/or in ORACLE table
This data was developed using BLM Geographic Coordinate Database data, USFS Cartographic Feature Files, USFS Status Atlas maps, and/or supplemental plots. See Metadata Properties for binary enclosures for original source metadata ( oregondo.met), explanation of land status data (explain_all_status_data_covers.doc), and the National GIS Data Dictionary for Land Status and Land Survey (land04s.doc).
