Abstract: Gifford Pinchot National Forest Boundary, Region 6, USFS

Purpose:

Boundary of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest for general administrative use. This includes 2 areas of the proclaimed Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest that is administered by the Gifford Pinchot NF ("the Mineral Block" and part of the former Randle district south of Glacier View Wilderness).

Supplemental_Information:

This boundary is an interim product and when the official ALP lines are released, we expect there will be some changes in the lines for this cover. This is the official forest boundary until such time that the ALP lines are released.

Most of the lines in this cover originated from ALP lines that were imported in the summer of 1997 from BJ in the Regional Office. The ALP lines were an interim product - they were not nor are they now released. Additionally there are a few lines that came from cff lines. There was a significant difference in line interpretation between the lines from cff and the lines in the ALP cover, and in most cases the ALP lines were used, however, when the cff lines were more appropriate they were used. This determination was made by comparing the forest boundary in use at the time with both sets of lines - ALP and cff.
