Frequently-anticipated questions:

What does this data set describe?

Title: RecreationPoints
Developed Recreation Sites. Describes the spatial location of recreation sites within or in close proximity to an administrative unit. Detailed attributes are stored in the IWEB tables for Recreation.
Deschutes and Ochoco combined the developed recreation sites. A decision was made to keep all the developed recreation sites on this POINT layer, instead of keeping some as points and some as polygons. This spatial data was updated 1-23-2007 for Sisters Ranger District. There are several duplicate REC_SITE_ID numbers in this dataset that should be documented as legitimate or be corrected. These unique identifiers are: 12597 (2) ; 12633 (2) ; 40067 (2); 52006 (15) ; 52012 (2) ; 52065 (5) ; and 9 points with no unique identifier. There are also 47 points with no information in the database. These can queried on the blank CN# field. 2-2-2007 GSS

  7. How does the data set describe geographic features?

    Internal feature number. (Source: ESRI)

Sequential unique whole numbers that are automatically generated.

    Feature geometry. (Source: ESRI)

    Coordinates defining the features.

Area of feature in internal units squared. (Source: ESRI)

Area is always zero for point coverages. Values are automatically generated.

Perimeter of feature in internal units. (Source: ESRI)

Perimeter is always zero for point coverages. Values are automatically generated.
