Welcome to the Deschutes National Forest GIS Data Library.

The export files are compressed with WinZip. Users can use a zip utility such as WinZip to expand files. Unless stated otherwise, the export file size is less than 1 megabyte.

The data sets are organized by theme. A list of themes is in the frame on the left hand side of the page. This page contains Metadata, or data about data, for our spatial data sets.

Data files served on this site are ArcGIS 9.3 Geodatabase or Shapefile. The projection is a local Albers projection defined for the area of Oregon and Washington in Region 6 of the USDA-Forest Service, NAD83, units are in meters.

Associated Tables are zipped comma-delimited text files, MS Access Databases, or DBF files.

Click on the icon in the Metadata column to view the Metadata, or click the icon in the Geodatabase or Shapefile column to begin the download process.
