Forest Products Conservation and Recycling
The focus is on identifying and developing public and private partnerships and
collaborative stewardship opportunities that add value to ecosystem management
outputs, support Forest Service land management goals, and retain or create
long-term jobs in economically distressed communities.
Technical assistance and information are provided to local economic
development providers, key industry representatives, federal and state agency
personnel, private businesses and non-government organizations, university and
extension specialists, and forest products researchers, consultants, and
associations.
Information relates to forest inventory,
silviculture, vegetation
management, harvest systems, forest products manufacturing processes, natural
resources marketing, promotion and distribution, use of wood in transportation
systems, and wood products recycling.
