ACCESS: Crater
Butte Trailhead near Odell Resort at east end of Odell Lake
or Fawn Lake Trailhead near
Crescent Lake Campground at northeast end of Crescent Lake.
DESCRIPTION: This trail starts from Crater
Butte Trail (#44) and passes through mountain hemlock and lodgepole
to Stage Lake. There is a spectacular view of Lakeview Mountain
from Stag Lake.
NOTE: The trail enters the Diamond
Peak Wilderness Area shortly after leaving the trailhead. Wilderness
Permits are required for both day-use and overnight travel in the
Wilderness from Memorial Day Weekend until Oct. 31. Permits are
available at the trailhead.
FEE: No trailhead fees
LENGTH: 0.7 miles one-way.
ELEVATION (low): 5900 feet
ELEVATION (high): 6000 feet
SEASON: Summer-Fall
DIFFICULTY: Easy
RECOMMENDED USES: Hiking, Horses
PROHIBITED USES: Mtn Bikes, Motorized Use
