ACCESS: From Fawn Lake Trailhead near Crescent Lake Campground at northeast end of Crescent Lake.

DESCRIPTION: The trail starts at the Fawn Lake Trailhead and ends at the Crater Butte Trail (#44) near Fawn Lake. This trail begins in a forest of white fir/Douglas fir/mountain hemlock before making a transition into lodgepole forest. There are views of Redtop and Lakeview Mountains at Fawn Lake.

NOTE: The trail enters the Diamond Peak Wilderness Area shortly after leaving the trailhead. Wilderness Permits are required for both day-use and overnight travel in the Wilderness from Memorial Day Weekend until Oct. 31. Permits are available at the trailhead.

FEE: No trailhead fees

LENGTH: 4.7 miles one-way.

ELEVATION (low): 4900 feet

ELEVATION (high): 5650 feet

SEASON: Summer-Fall

DIFFICULTY: Easy

RECOMMENDED USES: Hiking, Horses

PROHIBITED USES: Mtn Bikes, Motorized Use
