Maiden Peak Trail -- Trail #41.1

ACCESS: From Maiden Lake Trailhead west of Davis
Lake.
DESCRIPTION: Trail begins from the Maiden
Lake Trail (#41) and goes to the summit of Maiden Peak. A trail
continues west from the summit of Maiden Peak to the Pacific
Crest Trail (#2000) on the Willamette N.F. This trail ascends
through a very old noble fir/mountain hemlock open forest. Benches
and a lava flow will be encountered before this trail junctions
with the Maiden Peak Trail from Gold Lake. Excellent views of Odell
and Davis Lakes, Diamond Peak, and the Three Sisters will be experienced.
FEE: No trailhead fees
LENGTH: 2.7 miles one-way.
ELEVATION (low): 6300 feet
ELEVATION (high): 7800 feet
SEASON: Summer-Fall
DIFFICULTY: Moderate to Difficult
RECOMMENDED USES: Hiking and Horses. Mtn Bikes
are allowed but not recommended.
PROHIBITED USES: Motorized Use
