CURRENT CONDITIONS
SEASON: May to late October
LOCATION: On Odell Lake, about 5 miles east of Willamette Pass on State Highway 58.ACCESS: from Crescent, 12.2 miles west on Rd. 61, then 6.2 miles north and west on Hwy. 58
DESCRIPTION: Vegetation at Odell Lake is dominated by large Douglas fir, white fir, spruce, and hemlock typical of vegetation on the west side of the Cascades. This vegetation is present because the climate is more like that on the west side. Due to its orientation and location adjacent to Willamette Pass, winds can be quite brisk on Odell Lake and whitecaps occasionally form. The wind makes the lake a prime candidate for sailing and windsurfing in addition to its main attraction as a great lake to fish.
ELEVATION: 4800 feet
FACILITIES: Drinking water is provided from a well through a piped distribution system. Refuse bins are located in the campground, and garbage is picked up once each week. Vault toilet facilities are provided throughout the campground. The campground road is paved. Firewood is not provided, but can be gathered from the forest nearby. A small area of the campground is set aside for day-use picnicking. A fully accessible boat launch ramp, loading dock, and day-use parking (46 spots) for boaters are provided. A fish-cleaning station is provided.
SITES: There are 20 individual camping units each having a fireplace, table, and parking spur. Sites which are suitable for tent, trailer, and motorhome camping are available, but no hook-ups are provided.
