Cinder Hill Campground is the largest campground in Newberry Caldera.

Bears are a common occurrence at all campgrounds in Newberry Caldera. Please be Bear Safe and be aware of and follow all food storage regulations.

SEASON: May to October

LOCATION: along northeast shore of East Lake in Newberry National Volcanic Monument - 2 on location map

ACCESS: from Bend, 23.5 miles south on Hwy. 97, then 17.6 miles east on Rd. 21, and 0.5 miles north on F.S. Rd. 2100 700

ELEVATION: 6400 feet

FACILITIES: vault and flush toilets, drinking water, boat launch, accessible sites

SITES: 110 RV/Trailer/Tent

MAXIMUM SPUR LENGTH: 30 feet

SPECIAL ACTIVITIES: fishing, hiking, swimming, bird watching, bicycling, sightseeing, canoeing, access to Newberry Crater Trail (#3958) and connecting trails
