Metolius MPMT Notes from March 1, 2004 meeting

Why do we exist?

Existing "Mission" specific especially to monitoring, Metolius and pilot stewardship

Ideas that have been discussed: Education, Bio-regionalism, work, should we be limited to Metolius, MPMT w/ community fire plan (H.F.R.A.), project vs. program. Existing monitoring & Metolius vs. Central Oregon, more" stewardship pilot projects with Sisters RD, demonstrate what can be done with small log; provide inputs as to priorities (Sister, Camp Sherman, greater sisters community).

Roles, Responsibility and Relationships

1. Central source of information for the Pilot.

2. Build trust through communication.

3. Design experiments using contract authorities (no conflicts of interest with contractors)

4. Monitor success or failure of contracts.

5. Have a broad representation on the team.
